Description Plants creeping (branch electing 5-30cm). Leaves 3 (merely 5) leaflets each 2-4cm length. Flowers pink petals 4-7mm, flowering in May to June. Deciduous. Vine. Shrub.

Note Rubus microphyllus L. f. is not a synonym of Rubus niveus Thunberg (syn. Rubus albescens Roxburgh; Rubus foliolosus D. Don). Rubus microphyllus sensu D. Don, non L. f. is a synonym of Rubus foliolosus D. Don. Status on taxonomy of Rubus microphyllus sensu Reichenbach ex Bluff & Fingerh is uncertain.
Rubus microphyllus L. f. var. subcrataegifolius (H. Léveillé & Vaniot) Ohwi is a mountain type variety of Rubus microphyllus.
